My mom came down to keep me company this weekend, and I think we're both going to need another weekend asap to recup!
Friday was dinner at The Old Fashioned, a super club restaurant downtown that makes food local to Wisconsin. We also did some shopping down State Street, and I found some super cute vintage stores that I cannot wait to visit again ;)
Saturday started with the Farmers Market around capitol square which had hundreds of booths. Our basket included corn on the cob, tomatoes, scones, flowers, a monster cookie, hot and spicy cheese bread from Stella's and carrots. Nothing like eating food that was picked at 5 am that morning... We then took a tour of the capitol, shopped at a few Scandinavian stores in Mt. Horeb, took a tour of my work campus and got chocolate banana custard from Michaels. The highlight of the day was our evening at the American Players Theater. We packed a picnic dinner and drove to Spring Green to watch Shakespeare's "As You Like It" in an outdoor theater. The weather was perfect, the acting was brilliant and the company was superb!
Sunday included a great message at church and a beautiful walk through the Arboretum.
As far as moms go, mines pretty terrific!
